The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (GB-NIC)

Description

The Register of Charities is an accurate and up-to-date list of all organisations in Northern Ireland considered by law to be charitable. Currently, registration is a managed process and only organisations called forward by the Commission are considered eligible to register. For more information on the Register please visit http://www.charitycommissionni.org.uk/manage-your-charity/register-your-charity/charity-registration-faqs/.

Search options

Visit http://www.charitycommissionni.org.uk/charity-search/, select relevant filters and download the csv. The data is updated daily.

Find and use identifiers

Use the 'Reg charity number' field, as this is a unique registration identifier to each organisation. Though 'Sub charity number' is intended for those that are subsidiaries, in reality this is not used.

How to use

The code for this list is GB-NIC.

When you have located the organization you wish to identify in this list, you should either:

Enter it in an identifier database field prefixed with GB-NIC.

GB-NIC-[ IDENTIFIER ]

Examples

GB-NIC-100019

GB-NIC-100048

GB-NIC-100050

Alternatively, use it within a two-part identifier, with GB-NIC as the 'scheme', and the identifier you have located as the 'identifier' field.

You can suggest an edit to our information about this list by posting an issue or submitting a pull request.
